I just signed up for something new today! It's a directory for artists of wearable art that would like to teach lessons! I love this idea and while I don't have lots and lots of free time to teach, it would be great to connect with a few students on a regular basis! I have frequently been asked about classes for French Beaded Jewelry of the type that I am well known for! I work in wire wrapping and many other types of jewelry design styles, so feel that I have a lot to offer someone attempting to learn jewelry design! Basic construction of jewelry components and small jewelry pieces all the way up through complex designs! I love teaching! We'll see how it goes!
My name is Mona Hair! For a day job, I work as a registered nurse for a cardiovascular surgery unit!
At all other times I am a multi-media free lance jewelry designer residing in Bellaire, Texas!
I am a self taught designer with a history of working in hot glass (lampworking), and polymer clay most recently. I have a wide ranging experience base in French, Russian, and Venetian beaded floral work. Gemstones, pearls, crystals, and original components of peer artisans find their way into my work as well! Because my work is so varied in content, I have created a blog to help chronicle stages of experimentation to share with others!
I have an image events site at the moment where most of my work is on display with some tutorials to share. As I develop this blog, some of those tutorials ect...may move to this site. You may view complete online portfolios of my work by visiting that site at: http://imageevent.com/mona2
